U.S. stocks open higher as Treasury details bank planFont
U.S. stocks shot higher at Monday's start, with financial shares pacing the gains, after the Treasury Department detailed its plan to rid banks of as much as $1 trillion in bad assets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 160.81 points to 7,439.19. The S&P 500 rose 18.38 points to 786.92 and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 28.27 points to 1,485.54.
